Winford T. “Winn” Hammond

Funeral services for Mr. Winford Hammond will be held Thursday, August 10 at 2p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Karl Leukert officiating. Burial will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Birmingham, Alabama.

Mr. Hammond, age 72, of Bailey passed away, Wednesday, August 9 at his residence.

Mr. Hammond attended Community Seventh Day Adventist Church of Meridian. He started his career working for Electronic Engineers of Birmingham; he started out “at the bottom,” but when he retired some forty years later, he was the Vice President of Operations.

Survivors include his wife, Virgie M. Ray-Hammond; his children, Keith (Paulette) Hammond, Bryan David (Shelly) Hammond, and Alisa Hammond; his mother, Evelyn Belle Hammond-Nanny and husband, Jack; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild with one on the way, and his beloved cat, Shadow.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, JoyAnna Hammond, and his father, Milton Winford Hammond.

The family request memorials be made to the Twentieth Century Clubs Lodge of Little Rock, Arkansas and/or French Camp Academy of French Camp, Mississippi.
