Woods W. "Toby" Stanton Services for Woods W. "Toby" Stanton will be held Thursday, August 23, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Church, with Dr. Tom Sikes and Reverend Lea McCracken. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Stanton, 79, of Meridian died Sunday, August 19, 2012, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. Mr. Stanton was a retired architectural draftsman. He was extremely creative and artistic. He served in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Stanton was a dancer, enjoyed woodworking, as well as hunting and fishing. He was an avid Mississippi State Fan. He will be remembered as having a wonderful sense of humor, and as a loving and sacrificial husband, father, and grandfather. He had a huge heart for his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Kay Stanton of Meridian; son David Stanton of Meridian; daughters Lisa Craft and husband Craig of Hattiesburg and Leigh Ann Peden and husband Carl of Meridian; grandchildren Kyle Craft and wife Heather of Destrehan, Louisiana, Destinee May, and Lauren May of Meridian and Kevin Craft of Hattiesburg; sister Shirley Graham of Moses Lake, Washington and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Lena B. Stanton, sister Mary McLemore and brothers Jack Stanton and Lee Stanton. The family requests memorials be made to First Christian Church Building Fund. Pallbearers will be Roy Bailey, Jerrell Polk, Jimmy Purnell, Charlie Busler, Charles Downey and B.B. Archer.
