W.W."Wilma" Ivy Services for W.W. "Wilma" Ivy will be held Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 1:00 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverends James Lamoreaux, Marvin Holyfield and Barry Brand officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Mr. Ivy, 89 of Meridian, died Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. Mr. Ivy was a World War II Veteran and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Briarwood Baptist Church. He was retired from NAS Meridian where he worked for Public Works Transportation as a heavy equipment mechanic. He will be remembered as a loving family man, husband, father and grandfather. The family would like to thank the North Station Staff of Golden Living Center, Meridian, for their personal attention and loving care. Survivors include his daughter, Cynthia Ivy Rawson and her husband Billy of Meridian; grandchildren, Blair Rawson Kemp and her husband Jordan of Meridian, Elijah Will Rawson of Meridian; Billy's mother Donna R. Moring of Meridian; sister, Syble Holyfield and her husband Marvin of Escatawpa, MS; nieces, Sylvia Dees, Gloria Helms, Donna Girard, Lisa Black and Teresa Tanner; nephews, John Wilma Holyfield, Allen Ivy, Charles Ivy, Ted Ivy, and Darryl Ivy; and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Rawson Ivy; parents, George W. and Lula Matthews Ivy; son, George Purvy "Buddy" Ivy; and brothers, Glen Ivy and Aubrey Ivy. The family request memorials be made to the Briarwood Baptist Church Awana Ministry. Pallbearers will be Mitch Landreneau, Jordan Kemp, Barry Brand, Larry Dees, Jeff Barnacastle and Jerry "Charlie" Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, the Deacons of Briarwood Baptist Church; and friends, Curtis Barnacastle and Junior Hatcher.
