H.L. "Billy" Putnam Graveside services for H.L. "Billy" Putnam will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery. Burial will in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Putnam, 87, of Lauderdale, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014 in Meridian. He was retired from Gulf States Paper Mill in Demopolis and was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during WWII. Mr. Putnam was a member of the Vintage Wheels Car Club. He enjoyed restoring and showing antique cars. Survivors include his wife, Doris Putnam of Meridian; daughter, Rita Null of Meridian; step-son, Larry Dean and wife Myrna of Meridian; step-daughters, Martha Bishop and husband Bobby of Lauderdale, Janice Riggins and husband Dave of Bartlett, TN; step-son, Norman Hamilton of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, David Null and wife Beth, Davida Hopkins and husband Wayne, Jason Null and wife Julie, Todd Dean, Memory Spence and husband Brian, Raymond Mitchell, Jr. and wife Donna, Scott Mitchell, Casey Parham and husband Jeremy, Kelly Holloman and husband Ben, Tammy Beagle and husband Joe; Joe Riggins, Terry Riggins and wife Mariah; sister, Ruth Ritchie of Pensacola, FL; numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Billie Jo Mitchell; grand-son, Brian Mitchell; several brothers and sisters. The family request memorials be made to the charity of choice.
